QCNA awards finalists announced

The West Island Chronicle's sister papers, the West End Chronicle and the Westmount Examiner, also garnered two nominations each.

Aside from the Best Overall Newspaper category, the West Island Chronicle is also a finalist for Best Editorial Page (as is the Examiner), Best Special Section and Best Website.

Reporter Raffy Boudjikanian is up for Best Headline Writing, while former Chronicle staff reporter Andy Blatchford (who now works with Canadian Press) is up for Best Education Story and freelance writer Hollie Watson is up for Best Arts and Entertainment Story.

Meanwhile, Peter McCabe is up for Best Sports Photo and Best Feature Photo and Stephane Brunet is up for Best News Photo.

Cartoonist Stan Roach is up for Best Cartoon.

West End Chronicle editor Toula Foscolos is a finalist for Best Editorial (local affairs) and for Best Column Writing. Examiner editor Wayne Larsen is also a finalist in the latter.
